Tamar Joseph, Director of the International Department and Anat Douieb, Senior Programme Director arrived in Ghana on 31st July.  They met up with Dr. Shevel, who arrived from Nigeria.  Friday morning they were up bright and early and were delighted to see our dearest Kojo who kindly took all three of them around on their first full day in Ghana.  A big thank you to Kojo must be said, as he opened some doors and made some invaluable introductions.  The day was very busy and included a productive meeting with  Mr. Selby, Chief Director at the Ministry of Transport.

At the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, they met with Mr. Abisa-Seidu, the Chief Director and were very happy to see Mr. Benjamin Kofi Gyasi GIMI graduate from the HR programme.

At the Ghana Health Services they met with GIMI Graduate Dr. Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyire.

At the Bank of Ghana, they met with the First Deputy Governor: Millison K. Narh and had the pleasure of seeing an old friend, GIMI Graduate Ms. Josephine Ami-Narh. They were joined by Mr. Emmanuel Quao the Manager of the Centre for Training and Professional Department; Madoc Quaye the Head of Centre for Training & Development; Mr. Simeon P. Kyei (Head HR Dept.) We are looking forward to welcoming Mr. Quaye and Mr. Kyei to Israel for our Human Resources Programme in December.

Friday night Dr. Shevel, Tamar and Anat held a special meeting with Senior Officials of the University of Development Studies, to discuss the opening of the very first joint Ghanaian-Israeli Medical School. Prof. Haruna Yakubu, VC; Dr. Samuel Bugri, Ag. Vice Dean, School of Medicine and Health Science; Mr. Michael Ansa, Assistant Registrar; Prof. Gordana Kranjac-Berisavljevic, Director, Faculty of Agriculture. We are aiming to inaugurate this exciting and innovative joint venture on 20th November, 2014.

On Saturday, Dr. Shevel held a personal meeting with a dear friend and Graduate the Hon. Matthew Prempeh, Parliamentarian. The rest of the day was informal meetings, many old friends popped in to see the delegation culminating in an informal graduates meeting in the afternoon. Dr. Shevel, Tamar and Anat were delighted to see so many familiar and beloved faces; all in all they must have met up with about 50 graduates.

During the weekend they were very happy to see GIMI Graduate Dr. Kabiru Koredele Azeez, Director of Health Services, Cape Coast University. Dr. Azeez  introduced them to his lovely family.

On Monday Dr. Shevel went to the Pentecoast University to hold a very beneficial meeting with GIMI Graduate Prof. Kwame Omane Antwi. Tamar was very happy to see her very first Graduate Mr. Martin Afram at the National Road Safety Commission. Anat and Tamar met at the Ghana Shippers Council and were delighted to meet many GIMI Graduates and old acquaintances: Alhaji Musah Issaka, Head of HR (Alumnus 2004); Peter Mensah-Abrampah, Head of Finance (Alumnus 2007); Dr. Kofi Mbiah, CEO (visited Israel with the board of GPHA on a GIMI study tour); Emmanuel Martey, Deputy Chief Executive (Alumnus 2008); Godwin Biney, Head Management Information Systems (Alumnus of 2004) they were also joined by Commander Rtd. Mr. Griffith, Board Member.
The Delegation also paid a visit to the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority they met Director General Anamoo and Mike Griffin, Head of HR and had a tour of the port and also stopped to see GIMI graduates Abraham Mensahnow Head of Port Operations, Tema and Ms. Yvonne Opuku

They also visited the Environmental Protection Agency and had a very productive meeting with the Deputy Executive Director Mr. Ebenezer K. Appah-Sampong and a dear graduate Ms. Joyce Okai, the Ag. Director of HR.

On Tuesday our dear graduate Ms. Naa Ankrah, Head ofAdministration and HR at the Prudential Bank kindly organised a meeting for Anat and Tamar with some GIMI graduates and the Deputy Managing Director, Joseph Okine-Afrane. After the meeting they were given a tour and were delighted and proud to see that in every office they visited, there was at least one GIMI Graduate

They then visited  CAL Bank – to meet with another GIMI Graduate, Head of HR, Mr. Samuel Kwame Boafo.  National Banking College, was the next port of call,  where they held a meeting with the Principal, Mr. Philip K. Buabeng and they were graciously accompanied by Mr.  Emannuel Quao  from the Bank of Ghana.  They then visited another dear Graduate, Mr. Clifford Mettle at UniBank, who was delighted to see them.

The last meeting on Tuesday was with the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company and another dear Graduate Mr. William Prempeh

On Wednesday, Tamar and Anat were delighted to meet eleven managers at the Export Development and Investment Fund. This productive meeting was kindly arranged by our dear graduate Mr. Frank Obeng.

They then met with Mr. Azu Sam Aziakor, Director General Administration at the Ministry of Finance.

They also popped in to the Fidelity Bank and were very happy to see an old friend Mr. Kwaku Aboagye Acquaah, Learning and Development, HR Dept. While we waiting to meet Mr. Acquaah, Anat was delighted to bump into a GIMI Graduate, Ms. Regina Mawusi Yovonoo, Senior Manager, Consumer Banking.

Anat and Tamar then visited the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and were happy to see GIMI Graduate Mrs. Adelaide Akowuah BunatalDeputy Director, while they were waiting for to meet with Mr. Edward Amissah Nunoo, Deputy Chief Executive of Admin/HR and Ms. Angela Dedenamo Auch Acting Director, Training and Development.

The delegation were once again, delighted by the warmth and wonderful hospitality they received everywhere they went. During their time, they also enjoyed eating dinner with Kojo and his family
