Full Immersion Arabic Language Programme
This programme is a rare opportunity to learn the Arabic language with other international students whilst being fully immersed in the local culture - an experience that offers learning beyond the language itself. It is a joint programme delivered by the Nazareth Academic Institute and the Centre of Middle East and Religious Studies at Galilee Institute. The curriculum is designed for beginners and offers a foundation in both classical and spoken Arabic. In addition to classroom lectures, participants will develop their speaking skills in study visits to Arab villages and markets. They will leave with the ability to read Arabic texts as well as the ability to listen to Arabic media.
The programme comprises:
- Greetings/small talk/conversation
- Masculine and feminine nouns and adjectives
- Objects in the house
- Numbers; days of the week; calendar and seasons
- Various verbs in past, present and future and their negation
- Prepositions, participles and noun construction
- Names of different countries, places and directions
- Command and negative commands
- Basic business vocabulary
- Vocabulary of education; society; religions; costumes and folklore
- Vocabulary for completing formal forms
- Vocabulary for travelling
- Vocabulary related to military issues
