GIMI sent two lecturers to Tanzania to assist SUMATRA in training.  SUMATRA is a multi-sector transport regulator in Tanzania dealing with commercial road transport (trucks, buses, motorcycles and tricycles) and Railway Transport.  Professor Sotiris Theofanis (our guest lecturer from Greece)  and Nathaly Katz, from the  Israeli Railway Corporation addressed issues requested by SUMATRA, related to railway development, integration with other modes of transport and railway safety, drawing from the Israeli experience in the field.
