17/01/2019 | The Hon. Minister Sigrid Kaag met with Dr. Joseph Shevel in The Hague, The Netherlands

The Hon. Minister Sigrid Kaag, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, The Netherlands invited Dr. Shevel, President of Galilee Institute, Israel to a meeting to discuss cooperation in Africa and in Gaza. As Galilee Institute has been educating and training senior African leaders and experts since 1987, the discussion also focussed on the Sahel region including north Nigeria. They agreed that the Israeli know-how in water management and irrigation can contribute to the development of modern agriculture in this region and will enable farmers to continue cultivating their farms, rather than migrate because of the lack of water.

In Gaza, Galilee Institute is planning on-line training for engineers and graduates in mathematics in advanced high tech technologies, which will qualify them for employment at high tech Israeli companies where they will work on-line.
