Programme Length: 3 years (six semesters) or 180 ETCS credit points
Admission Requirements:

  • Master Degree from a recognized University in relevant fields (political science, international relations, law, etc.)
  • Fluency in English
  • Candidates must meet the PhD entry requirements in their respective countries

Tuition Fee: €15,000 for 3 years
Registration Fee: €37/per year of enrollment

The Faculty of Government and European Studies, a member of the New University, Kranj, Slovenia, is one of the leading educational institutions in Slovenia, offering broad interdisciplinary knowledge to all who want to work in public administration, international organizations and also in the private sector, where the experts for constructive cooperation with national and international institutions are always welcome.

This PhD gives participants a unique opportunity to study, research and contribute to understanding the security, strategy and international relations of the new reality.

During their studies, students acquire in-depth knowledge in a specially defined field, learn independent scientific work and also acquire knowledge that enables them to solve complex problems of international relations and diplomacy.

After fulfilling the requirements for the completion of the doctoral study programme International and Diplomatic Studies, a graduate is awarded a scientific title: Doctor of Science, abbreviation “dr.”

  • Defense, Homeland Security and Law professionals wishing to broaden their academic knowledge.
  • Diplomats and senior government officials in related fields who want to better understand the international security arena.
