Innovations in Prisoner Rehabilitation – The Israeli Experience

Innovations in Prisoner Rehabilitation – The Israeli Experience

The rehabilitation of prisoners is beneficial not only to the individuals who undergo rehabilitation and their families, but also to society at large. Prisoner rehabilitation reduces crime rate together with social and economic costs incurred by it. The cost of recidivism to the correctional service system is also part of the equation, making rehabilitation not only humane but also cost effective to the authorities.

The aim of "Innovations in Prisoner Rehabilitation – The Israeli Experience" study tour is to introduce contemporary innovations in the rehabilitation of prisoners in Israel. This advanced programme has been designed for GIMI graduates and their colleagues as a complementary programme to the Prisons Management in the 21st Century programme, but can also be attended by those who have not taken part the previous programme. This study tour will share new developments in prisoner rehabilitation with the major emphasis on field visits to innovative projects.
