The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), in a bid to mobilise critical stakeholders and effectively implement its vision and mission, delivered a brainstorm workshop on 'FUTA Strategic Plan 2015-2020'. The workshop covered strategy planning and sharing ideas on the theories and the best practices of implementation as it affects the university future position.

This seminar was initiated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adebiyi Gregory Daramola who is a GIMI Graduate, as a part of an MOU between FUTA and GIMI, which was signed previously in Israel.

Another GIMI Graduate, Prof. Olufemi A. Bamiro, former Vice Chancellor University of Ibadan and Pro-Chancellor Tai Solarin, University of Education gave the Key Note Address. Dr. Nathan Tirosh, Dean, Galilee International Management Institute (GIMI), led and provided a 3 day intensive Workshop on 'Strategy Management and Planning', covering major issues including: strategic thinking and planning; exploring the university's vision; missions; core values; goals; objectives and its Strategic Map. The Workshop also delivered a fundamental understanding of the university's opportunities and challenges that it will face during the implementation of the 2015-2020 strategic plan.

The 65 participants (VC, DVC, Deans, School Directors, Registrar, representatives of the Student Association, decision-making seniors, and other key stakeholders) were impacted with acquired knowledge on understanding strategy formulation sophisticated methods, fully exercised and discussed. Participants were taken through how to evolve strategic plans for their various schools and other Strategic Business Centers/Units (SBU) of the university. At the end, each school perfectly presented its strategic plan framework. A major understanding and appreciation of the participants is that all members, 'top-bottom' and 'bottom-up' speak the same 'strategy language'.
